I feel like it actually may be more of a through-line in my career than I’d like to admit.ĬW: I just got this part through the usual process.
CALUM WORTHY THE ACT FULL
GD: Is this something that you always wanted to check off on your bucket list as an actor, playing a murderer?ĬW: It’s kind of full circle ‘cause my first role I actually played a cannibal in a show called “Night Visions” when I was nine and Bill Pullman cast me in it. I was just blown away by what they had done. It’s sometimes when you watch something that you’ve been a part of because when you’ve seen the process sometimes it takes some of the magic away and I didn’t experience that watching. I thought the whole cast, like AnnaSophia and Chloe and Joey and Patricia just did such a wonderful job.
GD: What surprised you about the way it was actually presented onscreen versus how you acted in it and what you saw on the page?ĬW: I’m just blown away by the performances. I was really keen to see what she had done so I decided to watch it finally. I decided to finally watch it because I was so excited to see what Patricia had done in all the scenes that I wasn’t in. GD: Have you seen the show yet? I read a previous interview where you said you were not going to watch yourself in it.ĬW: I decided to watch it. They actually made it a character study and dove into the psychology of these characters. People are very fascinated with this crime specifically because there’s so many twists and turns in it but I think what Nick and Michelle did that was so successful is they decided to not just focus on it being a true crime story.
GD: I was concerned that the subject matter would turn people off.ĬW: Yeah, in a weird way it actually helped us, I think. They were so wonderful at putting together a great team that I’d love to attribute it just to that but the truth is there’s a lot of luck involved whenever it comes to something actually being successful. I’d love to say that it’s because of the amazing cast and the incredible crew and Hulu, who’s just been so supportive and Universal as well. I think there’s something magical in the air when something actually works out like that.
